My Nation Love It, Leave it, or Change it.

Since the start of this travesty ineptly named “Operation Iraqi Freedom, I have expected only the worst to befall our soldiers and the Iraqis alike. Any sane and compassionate human being knew our invasion and the inevitable occupation of
Iraq was wrong, how could it be otherwise. When the prefab government that sits on its throne in the house that Americans built, decided to attack a weak and defenseless country, I was shocked that more decent, hardworking and intelligent Americans didn’t speak out against it and I was especially saddened by the responses and opinions of people I respected. Their lockstep reaction to the fanatical call to war was extremely disheartening.  So many people accepted the idea that a war against a nation of weak and downtrodden people was the right response to 9/11 and to the fear that was felt after the attacks in New York & D.C. But the attacks by fanatical fundamentalists were done not with weapons of mass destruction but with a 99ยข box cutter and in reality it wasn’t done against the American people but against the policies of the American government and it is the victims of 9/11, like the people of Iraq, that suffer the consequences. The actions of those who commandeered planes into major U.S targets were the actions of people willing to kill and be killed in protest of our Government’s policies so how do we fight against a foe who hates with such ferocity and dedication? The fact that they could do so much with so little shows me that no amount of sophisticated weaponry can assure our safety.

The cold war alerted us to the possibilities of nuclear horrors but did little to help prepare us for such an unsophisticated and determined enemy. Whether or not the situation in the Mideast can be fixed is beyond someone like me and also beyond most experts but the ending of American Empire building would certainly be a good start. Be that as it may it has become obvious to me over the last several years that the ememy that we face from without doesn’t hold a candle to the ememies we face from within. The destruction of America will never come from those on the outside. We can only be destroyed by those on the inside. This country is in a time of tremendous peril and the unelected government that has hijacked our Flag could quite possibly be the final undoing of us all. American’s must wake up and see what is happening. No more Party over Country or Loyalist over Patriot. We must all choose America First and we must do it fast if we are to stop this insanity and secure any type of future for our children and grandchildren. The flow of innocent blood in the streets of Iraq and Lebanon must end now.

As a woman, a daughter, a mother, a wife, and a grandmother the child I see caught in the conflicts of war doesn’t represent a race or a religion they only represent a child.  A child who if not killed will be scarred forever and a child who will be transformed as an adult into an enemy. Why are we allowing the government of our country to destroy the lives of millions. What do the monsters who orchestrate these wars want as the utlitmate outcome?  In my world the joys of life are now covered with a fog of depression and sadness no matter the personal events going on around me. The face of the small child laying in the rubble of Lebanon is the face of my two year old granddaughter and the mother screaming out to God the injustice of the loss of her child screams with my voice  and the voices of all mothers. And the man in Iraq who watches his family destroyed in a random bombing yells out in grief “Death to America” now yells with my understanding.

When did we as Americans lose our humanity? When was it decided that the blood of Americans and Israelis was worth more than the blood and lives of Arabs? When did America the beautiful become America the mericiless? I want the America I once believed existed back. I want the knowledged of the horrors of this world to be erased from my mind. I want to go back to living in oblivion because reality is much too painful.

George Galloway Tells It Like It Is… Again

George Galloway takes on Sky News

Mr Galloway once again comes to the rescue of truth. Where are the American truth tellers? Why aren’t our political leaders screaming at the media as Mr. Galloway does. Cowards the lot of them.  Mr. Galloway appeared before the US Congress in 2005 and took them to task for their illegal war and he continues to speak out for truth about the current events in Lebanon.

My God is not Your God

Because God is all things to all people. Some believe that God is vengeful and causes chaos and disaster to those who do not follow his commandments. There are others who believe that God can change the course of events and as such that is why they pray. But my God is a good and caring God who created the earth and all upon it and then sat back to see what we would make of it. Look at what he is seeing.
